Grooming for MOTY

This past week I was honored to attend the GQ Man of the Year party in L.A. as a Man of Today correspondent for GQ/Hugo Boss. To me, the Man of Today is passionate and hard working yet compassionate. He doesn’t take no for an answer and he doesn’t let others define him. The Man of Today walks his own path and creates his own version of success. Which is something I try to do everyday at IAMGALLA. Some of you may have seen the pictures from the party. I know you’d like to think I woke up like dat but we can’t all be Beyonce. Well, the first thing I do is to make sure I’ve have gotten a good night’s sleep the night before the big event. A quick visit to the gym in the morning is the best way to start off my day followed by eating right. Even if you’re nervous and don’t feel hungry you should still try to eat something. Ensure that your outfit is ready and looking good. In this case I checked that my tux was properly pressed. Allow enough time to prep! I usually allows an hour to groom and prepare on top of any travel time. Once showered, I went for a messier hair look by blow drying it. Next I used a skin regimen from acne.org so that my face stayed moisturized and not too oily or dry. Lastly, right before I walked out the door I applied the BOSS BOTTLED fragrance which perfectly accented my look with its masculine blend of fruity and citrus notes on top and warm woody base undertones. When meeting new people it’s important to remember that before you even open your mouth you’ve already made two impressions with sight and smell; your outfit and fragrance should express confidence and success. Plus, you gotta look good for the camera!
