June is here, and so is summer. With new seasons come new wardrobes, new looks and new attitudes. I for one love to change up my look and style and you’re going to start seeing it here in this post folks. So about a month ago I made the decision to grow out my hair. Yup. You heard correct, full on hipster status level TEN. I’m projecting it to take about one year to get it to the length I desire. I know I’m only 23 but I really want to try and capture the brad pitt look via 2012.. please google at your own convenience. Although I had these goals in mind I thought it would be a bright idea to go dye it a few weeks back and let’s just say it came out a disaster. It was bright red. My heritage is northern irish but for god sakes, I didn’t want to actually look like a leprechaun. I mean come on! After a few color corrections later, a blow to my manly ego and some dead hair breakage I’m back to dark brown with auburn tint *rolls eyes* So in short, I got it cut yesterday and will sadly have to pursue the long hair dream next year when I have my natural color back. But for now I will have to live with brassy tones and A LOT of hats like this one, please don’t hate me.
Let’s chat threads. So as most of you know I teamed up with Lord & Taylor at the beginning of the season to showcase some fun pieces for Coachella, spring and now summer! Even though it’s just denim and a blazer, go with me on this one. I picked white jeans and paired them with a light blue linen shirt then layered it under a light-weight blazer by Gant Rugger. This outfit would be most ideal for an evening occasion, possibly on vacation near the ocean? Or even for a boat party on the East or Hudson River! It’s nautical with an urban twist. I am not the biggest fan of shorts so I tend to lean towards lighter denim and just put up with the heat. You can of course substitute the bottoms for shorts, trunks or linen pants. totally up to you.
