It’s been crazy since I last posted: between my trips to Italy and the Hamptons , and a few days at home in N.Y.C., I’ve starting to become a bit of a wanderer. I’ve been traveling so much that sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I have that moment when I can’t remember what time zone I’m in. Which is the perfect lead-in to today’s street-style shoot …
I teamed up with Vanity Fair and Van Cleef & Arpels to showcase one of the luxury watch designer’s timepieces from the new Pierre Arpels collection: the Pierre Arpels Heure d’Ici & Heure d’Ailleurs. This watch is the perfect blend of masculinity and elegance, sophistication and understatement—and it complements just about everything in my closet. The watch has a very nostalgic, 1920s-era look that I’m really into right now: the cursive script, the thin case held by central attachments, and the piqué motif at the center of the dial that evokes a black-tie shirtfront. It also happens to look great with a more casual look, like the one I’ve put together here: linen shirt, grey vest, textured blazer, and some suspenders for good measure; it’s very “Great Gatsby,” which is the throwback vibe I’ve been channeling lately.
What I like the most about Heure d’ici and Heure d’ailleurs is the dual time zones it features on its dial. The hour of the first time zone is at the top and the hour of the second time zone that appears in the lower aperture both jump at the same time—which will help keep me on time and grounded wherever my next adventure takes me, whether it’s Miami, Austin, Paris, or Puerto Rico. You can check out the other pieces in the Van Cleef & Arpels Pierre Arpels collection and see which one suits your style here.
