Morning guys! I have just woken up in Istanbul turkey! You heard it here first folks, I’m out here with Harrods on a special photo shoot that I will reveal later. Very excited to tell you more but first things first, let’s get caught up on some posts!
So a couple months ago Olivia Lopez (lust for life) and I did a huge euro travel circuit…We conquered spain, greece, montenegro and paris and even though I’ve posted just about every other place, I haven’t had a chance to show you guys Ibiza through my eyes. Despite the popular belief that the island only boasts clubbing, Olivia and I found ourselves engrossed in the history and local lifestyle of the natives via the Old Town. We stayed in a wonderful boutique hotel named La Torre del Canónigo in the Balcony Suite. It was instantly one of my favorites for the simple fact that it sat on the highest hill in the city, overlooking the harbor and downtown (last picture). We entertained ourselves daily by window shopping in the small local shops in the old city, indulging at communal tapas bars and of course we took a day trip to Formentera (highly recommend!) It’s only an hour boat ride via water taxi you can access at the main harbor point in the city. Once you get to Formentera you’ll want to hail a taxi immediately and have them take you to your beach of choice…there’s a couple popular ones depending on what scene you’re looking for but we chose Platje de ses Illetes.
For me, packing for an island or beach destination is easy. You have your essentials just like any other type of trip. Tanning lotion, plethora of sunnies, linen, swim trunks, hats & footwear. Let’s take a second to really dive into the options of beach footwear from the modern choices, the classics and everything in-between. Almost exclusively, on any beach, you can find me wearing a pair of good ol flip flops via my childhood in Southern California. They’re easy. Easy to pack, easy to carry, easy to put on, you name it. This time around I teamed up with Havaianas to showcase my island style and how I dressed up my easy footwear. The other option if you’re not a flip-flopper is the modern espadrille which also has my vote. Just slip it on and go! I’m sure you could’ve guessed that I sported black ones during my stay because I more often than not wear the color of my soul (kidding). If you’re wanderlusting an island getaway and considering new footwear pieces I encourage you to gander some easy, fun and colorful options via Havaianas website HERE.
Hope you guy’s enjoying this little in-depth review of our 3 day stay in the ‘party’ town that has so much more to offer than parties. Till next time!
-ps. yes, I know the second to last picture is Santorini, but it was immediately following our ibiza trip and I loved to picture of the product too much to not include. –
