The New Yorker Festival took place the other weekend here in New York and I had the pleasure of teaming up with Autograph hotels for some fun events! No festival is complete without an opening party to kick it off. This party was held on Friday night at The Algonquin Hotel in Midtown Manhattan where music filled the air and h’orderves and fine cocktails flowed. Day 1 took Nick and I all around the city to the various events that were going on. One of our stops was at the United Lounge. I was lucky enough to have a custom cartoon drawn for me by New Yorker cartoonist Drew Dernavich! Between all the activities it was nice to get back to The Algonquin for some brief r and r. There were talks going on all day, though, with celebrities that had had a piece done on them in the New Yorker this past year. We were quite keen to see Adam Driver of Girls and soon to be Star Wars. After an interesting Q&A, Nick and I decided to call it a night. On the final day of the festival there were book signings going on throughout. One of the highlights was seeing Jesse Eisenberg at McNally Jackson Books in SoHo. I really look forward to seeing him in his upcoming movies especially Batman V. Superman. Overall it was a really cool opportunity to experience a taste of New York and see some of my favorite celebs along the way.
