This past July, I had the honor of attending the Hugo Boss Men’s Spring/Summer 2018 presentation and it did not disappoint. The presentation took place in a modern and immaculate warehouse next to the Hudson, where the models walked down reflective runways reminiscent of water.
Inspired by the easy mood of a mellow summer’s day at the seaside – the new Spring Summer 2018 collection, fittingly titled the “Summer of Ease” featured an array of flag printed tops, roomy shorts and shiny nylon jackets. My personal favorite were the unstructured raincoats & patterned ascots.
Hugo Boss, a brand who has built their reputation around suiting and white collar dressing, flipped the script on elevated work wear with light linen shorts in place or trousers and paper-light trench coats for suit jackets. Out of all the monochromatic looks and ultra-relaxed tailoring, my favorite pieces from the collection included the stone-washed suede shirts, relaxed, pleated trouser shorts and the stand out red patent coats.
